Our best overall pick has made the local paper. On 27 August, Fife Today reported on the 2026 exam results at Educamus Tuition under the headline “Fife tutoring firm gains high pass marks”, and the numbers in the piece match the ones that put the company at the top of our rankings this year.
The paper reported that Educamus Tuition, based in Kinghorn on the Fife coast, taught more than 220 students across more than 3,000 lessons this year and recorded a 94.9 per cent overall pass rate from the results families reported back. Reporter Paul McCabe set that against the national picture, where 76.7 per cent of Higher grades and 79.2 per cent of National 5 grades came back A to C. The article also noted a detail we highlighted in our own English rankings: not one of the company's reported English results fell below a C.
“We know every one of these pupils by name, so results week is a nervous one for the tutors as well.”

The story put a face on the statistics too. Aiden, a National 5 Maths student from Kirkcaldy, started the year on a D and finished with a B. His mum Leighann told the paper his tutor had worked diligently and patiently, building his confidence across the maths curriculum as well as his study skills.
Why local coverage matters when you choose a tutor
Anyone can publish a pass rate on their own website. A local newspaper putting its name to the same figures, with a named reporter and named families, is a different grade of evidence, and it is rare in Scottish tutoring. Most services on our list publish no results at all.
Educamus Tuition holds the top spot in our Top 10 this year, and this is the pattern behind it: numbers the company is willing to publish, families willing to be named, and now a paper willing to print both. Their rates sit at £45 to £55 an hour, which our 2026 price guide places in the middle of the Scottish market, some way below the £68 to £100 the premium independents charge.
